Mrs. Elliott's Montessori Classroom

Today we worked on editing our first piece of writing.  We used an editing checklist to help us remember what to look for.  We had our first gym class today.  There will be another gym class tomorrow. Homework tonight:  - home reading  - gym tomorrow Have a wonderful evening.  

The grade fives and sixes sand the alphabet song in French today.  Please ask your child to spell their name for you in French tonight.  We had our first library session today and your child could be bringing home a library book tonight.  A reminder that library books should be returned Tuesday to be ready for Wednesday library days. Today we had a guest come to the classroom to share with us information on Terry Fox.  We also learned a little bit about prosthetics. We also started our first writing assignment.  The children have looked at an image of a honeybee hive and are writing about how honeybees show teamwork. Homework tonight:  - home reading  Have a wonderful evening! 

 We had our first Math Monday today.  The children used clues to find a number on a number chart.  We read about bees today and how they use teamwork to survive. Homework:  - home reading  - return forms ASAP Have a wonderful evening! 

Today the children all wrote a journal entry to me to tell me something that they think I need to know.  This afternoon we did a teamwork activity.  The students had to create a cup stack lifting them with only a rubber band and string. Homework this weekend:  - completed forms  - parents check your email to look for an email from Mrs. Elliott Have a wonderful weekend! 

 Today we did a division review.  We also reviewed how to use a multiplication chart.  We also received our new agendas and worked on an activity to show all the ways that we can use our agenda. Homework:  - Verification Form  - Form Package  Have a wonderful evening.
