 We had a wonderful day today.  The students are each working on, "exploding a moment" that is important to them.  They are taking a special moment/memory and using their senses before writing about it.  We also met our little buddies for the first time today.  They showed their little buddy around the school and reviewed boundaries. We had a virtual field trip today to the parliament building in Victoria.  We learned all about the three levels of government.  We started working on our art cards today.   Homework:  - library tomorrow  - home reading  Have a wonderful evening! 

Today we had our first fast facts.  The students had five minutes to answer as many multiplication facts as they could.  This afternoon we celebrated the International Day of Peace.  The children sang beautifully together. Homework:  - home reading  - no school Monday Have a wonderful weekend! 

Today we worked on editing our first piece of writing.  We used an editing checklist to help us remember what to look for.  We had our first gym class today.  There will be another gym class tomorrow. Homework tonight:  - home reading  - gym tomorrow Have a wonderful evening.  

The grade fives and sixes sand the alphabet song in French today.  Please ask your child to spell their name for you in French tonight.  We had our first library session today and your child could be bringing home a library book tonight.  A reminder that library books should be returned Tuesday to be ready for Wednesday library days. Today we had a guest come to the classroom to share with us information on Terry Fox.  We also learned a little bit about prosthetics. We also started our first writing assignment.  The children have looked at an image of a honeybee hive and are writing about how honeybees show teamwork.
