Friday December 5th

Our act of kindness today was making cards for seniors.  These will be delivered to a seniors home next week.  We also drew names for Secret Santa this afternoon.  You child should be coming home with a slip of paper with the name of another student on it.  I also have the children list three of their interests to help with shopping.  Please stress the importance of keeping this a secret as it is about giving, not taking credit for giving the gift.  Please also keep gifts around $10.  This is about a kind gesture, not an extravagant gift. Homework this weekend:  - home reading  - health letters  - backpack items (we are short on lotion if anyone is wondering what we need.  We have lots of band aids and toothbrushes)  - secret santa Have a wonderful weekend!

Thursday December 4th

The students did a great job with their song practice today.  I will be posting the music in the google classroom later today so that they can practice from home if they like.  This afternoon each student was given an event that took place in the Kamloops area from 12 000 years ago to 1900.  They put themselves in order without talking and then we shared the history. Homework:  - home reading  - PJ day tomorrow  - library tomorrow  - math package if not complete  - Secret Santa?  Don't forget to let me know if your child wants to participate. Have a good night!

Wednesday December 3rd

In gym today the students had choice day.  We had another rotation of our literacy stations today.  In the afternoon we also practiced letter writing by writing letters to a variety of local dental offices to ask for donations to our comfort care backpack project.  We are still looking for classroom donations of lotion.  We have not had many lotion donations come in so far. Homework tonight:  - home reading  - library Friday  - email yesterday  - health letter Have a wonderful evening!

Tuesday December 2nd

Wow, December already!  Sorry for the late post today.  We had a wonderful day at Anne of Green Gables today.  The children were so respectful on the bus and during the performance.  We even had the bus driver pay them a huge compliment today on how respectful they were.  I was very impressed with the grade fives and sixes when it came to comparing and contrasting the play to the novel (we read this last year).  They remembered so many details from the original story!   I didn't send any information home in agendas today as we got back to the school rather late. Items to remember for tomorrow:  - wear winter gear  - have inside shoes Have a wonderful evening!
