Friday November 8th

Today we had a Remembrance Day assembly in the gym.  Our year sixes did a wonderful job with their poem.  Our speakers and wreath bearers did a great job as well.  This morning we completed our weekly word study dictation and our Big 5 focus this week was patterning.

Homework this weekend:

 - home reading

 - word study package if not complete

 - Remembrance Day news scavenger hunt if not complete

A reminder that there is no school Monday for Remembrance Day.

Today we reviewed our RoaRS expectations and made flowers to contribute to our school mural.  Some of the grade fours started doing bead chains.  We also did a Get to Know You Bingo to make connections with our classmates.  Agendas will be coming home soon!

Monday November 4th

Today we went to the library and continued to challenge ourselves with programing the Edisons.  The students had to build a pencil holder and then create a program to draw a circle.  We have started a review of patterning as well in Math. Homework:  - home reading  - word study  - unfinished work   - library tomorrow  - gym tomorrow  - art card order due  Have a great night!

Thursday October 31

 Today we had a STEM challenge where the students were challenged to build a launcher for a bouncy ball.  Tomorrow we will go outside and test our builds.  We will be outside for a portion of the day tomorrow to complete a couple of activities (as long as it is not raining) so please make sure that you are dressed for the weather.  In the afternoon the students enjoyed a variety of Halloween activities.   Homework tonight:  - Have a safe and happy Halloween!  - Field Trip Permission Form
