Monday May 5th

Today we carried on our study of rocks and minerals and took some notes on the different types of rocks.  Please ask your child to tell you the three types.  We got a new Canadian Reader/What in the World article today that looks at the closing of the Hudson Bay Company.  

Homework tonight:

 - fast facts

 - home reading (novel to be finished by the end of the month)

 - gym tomorrow

 - library tomorrow

We did our fast fact practice again today.  I was VERY pleased to see an improvement in almost everyone from last week!  This afternoon we continued working on our vanishing point art.  Due to the many absences in the classroom today we decided to wait until Monday to do our Word Study Dictation. April 19 - Welcome!

Welcome to our new classroom blog!  As the next few months are going to get busy, I thought that this would be a place that we can update daily in class while we are writing in our agendas.  This way if an agenda has been forgotten, the information can be found here. Thank you to all those who were able to make it to our classroom open house.  The students loved being able to share their learning with you.  To those who were unable to make it today, your child should be bringing home a folder.  Please record your reflections and send this back with your child on Tuesday. Monday September 16

 Today we had our first Lock Down Drill.  The students did a good job of keeping silent during this time.  We had our first Math Monday today and did an estimation activity.  Please ask your child about this process.  We started practicing our song for Peace Day Friday, "What a Wonderful World." Homework  - please ensure that all Walking Field Trip forms and verification forms have been returned  - gym tomorrow  - our first library tomorrow  - inside shoes Have a wonderful evening!
