Monday June 2nd

I cannot believe it is June!!!  This morning we talked about Book Trailers and started to write our own for the novels that we just read.  We had a good chat today about the expectations for our field trip to McQueen Lake tomorrow.  Please make sure that your child is not late, as I would hate for them to not come on the trip.  We also practiced our Air Bands today.  They will performing these on Friday.

Homework tonight:
 
 - McQueen Lake Field Trip tomorrow

1) Lunch and snack (your child will be responsible for packing out their own garbage.)
2) water for the day.
3) runners or good walking shoes.
4) a hat/ light jacket/possible umbrella?
5) possibly sunscreen/insect repellant.

We did our fast fact practice again today.  I was VERY pleased to see an improvement in almost everyone from last week!  This afternoon we continued working on our vanishing point art.  Due to the many absences in the classroom today we decided to wait until Monday to do our Word Study Dictation. April 19 - Welcome!

Welcome to our new classroom blog!  As the next few months are going to get busy, I thought that this would be a place that we can update daily in class while we are writing in our agendas.  This way if an agenda has been forgotten, the information can be found here. Thank you to all those who were able to make it to our classroom open house.  The students loved being able to share their learning with you.  To those who were unable to make it today, your child should be bringing home a folder.  Please record your reflections and send this back with your child on Tuesday. Monday May 26th

This afternoon we started a study of biomes.  We will be doing research in books to find out more about six different biomes on the earth.  We also received our final word study package for the year.  June gets very busy and we will be reviewing the words we have been working with all year.  Many children have not been changing their shoes.  Even though the weather is nicer, this is causing dirt to be brought into the classroom.  The children need to be changing shoes when coming into the classroom please.
