 Today we did an experiment and learned about energy.  Please have your child explain potential and kinetic energy to you.  We got together with the other class to practice our songs for the winter concert.  We did a pattern quiz today to check in with our recent learning.  When working on Typing Pal today I met with the students to let them know what letters they need to be focusing on. Today we continued our beading projects.  They are starting to be completed and will be bringing them home soon!  We continued to practice our holiday songs for our winter concert. Today we had a bit of a Work Block day.  Many activities are on the go right now and the students are all working hard.  We also started practicing for our Winter Concert today.  It may feel early, but it is coming up quickly! We continued to work on our class beliefs today.  The students were making great connections between school expectations and classroom beliefs.  There will be Word Study this week.  This afternoon we had a fantastic discussion about the Mesozoic Era!  The children asked a lot of great questions that I look forward to discovering with them over the next couple of weeks!   The students had a productive work block as well today!  Homework tonight:  - home reading  - pack a lunch for tomorrow

This morning we did a refresher lesson on adjectives.  There has been some confusion lately with adjectives and nouns.  This afternoon we learned how to create an infographic using Canva to share our understanding of the three types of matter. Today we had a Remembrance Day assembly in the gym.  Our year sixes did a wonderful job with their poem.  Our speakers and wreath bearers did a great job as well.  This morning we completed our weekly word study dictation and our Big 5 focus this week was patterning. Today we continued on with our matter study in cultural.  We made rockets using fizzy tablets and film canisters.  We also started a beading project with Mr. Michel today. The Year Six students practiced "In Flander's Fields" again today.  They will present this on Friday at the school assembly.  Unfortunately, due to the size of our school, parents are not able to attend the assembly.  In gym today the students played Battleship. This afternoon we started some peace themed art for Remembrance Day.  Today the students did a "Would You Rather?" activity. A reminder that next Friday we are on a field trip all day.  This is a hot lunch day.  Can you please either cancel your child's order, or they will be waiting for us when we return at the end of the day. Today we went to the library and continued to challenge ourselves with programing the Edisons.  The students had to build a pencil holder and then create a program to draw a circle.  We have started a review of patterning as well in Math.
