Mrs. Elliott's Montessori Classroom

 I realized in the excitement of Friday, I forgot to post. We had a wonderful day celebrating together.  Lots of smiles and laughs during Secret Santa.  Thank you to all families for helping to create such wonderful memories! Have a wonderful holiday break and I look forward to seeing everyone again in the new year!

 We had a busy work block day in the classroom today.  We enjoyed a wonderful shared lunch together in the classroom today. Tomorrow we will be watching Anne of Green Gables to follow up after reading the novel this fall.  The children are welcome to wear PJ's and bring a blanket.  I have been telling them that all unfinished work must be completed before movie watching.  Some may be bringing homework tonight to ensure that they are caught up.  Items that must be finished are:  - persuasive writing  - Mesozoic books  - BC Maps (labeling)  - Energy Projects  - French Image (5/6)  - Ugly Sweater writing We have had a lot of time in the classroom to ensure that all of these have been finished, however some have spent time socializing and have items to get caught up. I have been asking them to bring these for homework for the past week.

 Today we helped our buddies decorate some gingerbread items.  Your child is bringing home two cookies.  They know they have to ask your permission before eating them. We had a lot of time in the classroom as a work block today.  The children know that they have assignments to finish that take priority before fun on Friday. Homework:  - home reading  - cooking in the classroom tomorrow (please bring a spoon)  - festive sweater day tomorrow Have a good night.

 Today we looked at persuasive writing.  Ask your child what topic they had.  The children wrote some beautiful thank you notes to the staff members today. Homework tonight:  - home reading  - library tomorrow  - gym tomorrow  - Secret Santa gifts to be brought in tomorrow Have a great evening!

 We did our last Big 5 of 2024 today.  Next Friday we will not be doing a Big 5.  The students did an energy scavenger hunt around the room this afternoon.  See if they can point out different forms of energy around your house.  Today we started working on an energy project. Please have your child tell you about what they are inventing!  We completed our second and final Winter Concert today!  The children did an amazing job! Homework tonight:  - home reading  - last day of 12 Days of Giving tomorrow! Have a wonderful evening!
