We did our art cards today.  We had a beautiful gathering as a school this morning to acknowledge National Truth and Reconciliation Day.  A reminder that there is no school tomorrow to acknowledge this day. Homework:  - home reading  - photo day Thursday  - no school tomorrow Have a good night. 

We started our day at the library this morning since Wednesday is a holiday.  We took part in the Terry Fox Run today.  We have raised over $500 at the school.  You can still bring in donations if you have forgotten them. We walked our buddies through their first fire drill today.  We also did our first What in the World reading today.  We read about the forest fires in BC this summer. Homework:  - home reading  - gym tomorrow  - $2 for Terry Fox (run on Monday) Have a wonderful evening!

 We had a wonderful day today.  The students are each working on, "exploding a moment" that is important to them.  They are taking a special moment/memory and using their senses before writing about it.  We also met our little buddies for the first time today.  They showed their little buddy around the school and reviewed boundaries. We had a virtual field trip today to the parliament building in Victoria.  We learned all about the three levels of government.  We started working on our art cards today.   Homework:  - library tomorrow  - home reading  Have a wonderful evening! 

Today we had our first fast facts.  The students had five minutes to answer as many multiplication facts as they could.  This afternoon we celebrated the International Day of Peace.  The children sang beautifully together. Homework:  - home reading  - no school Monday Have a wonderful weekend! 

Today we worked on editing our first piece of writing.  We used an editing checklist to help us remember what to look for.  We had our first gym class today.  There will be another gym class tomorrow. Homework tonight:  - home reading  - gym tomorrow Have a wonderful evening.  

The grade fives and sixes sand the alphabet song in French today.  Please ask your child to spell their name for you in French tonight.  We had our first library session today and your child could be bringing home a library book tonight.  A reminder that library books should be returned Tuesday to be ready for Wednesday library days. Today we had a guest come to the classroom to share with us information on Terry Fox.  We also learned a little bit about prosthetics. We also started our first writing assignment.  The children have looked at an image of a honeybee hive and are writing about how honeybees show teamwork.  We had our first Math Monday today.  The children used clues to find a number on a number chart.  We read about bees today and how they use teamwork to survive. Homework:  - home reading  - return forms ASAP Have a wonderful evening! 

Today the children all wrote a journal entry to me to tell me something that they think I need to know.  This afternoon we did a teamwork activity.  The students had to create a cup stack lifting them with only a rubber band and string.  Today we did a division review.  We also reviewed how to use a multiplication chart.  We also received our new agendas and worked on an activity to show all the ways that we can use our agenda. Homework:  - Verification Form  - Form Package  Have a wonderful evening.
